Genesis

Early in my work as a preacher, I ran across a used book at the Archives Bookshop in Pasadena that caught my attention. The former owner underlined passages that caught his attention. I recall one of the passages recommending that readers of the Bible learn to read each book as a complete whole. In other words, the various parts of any book should be read in light of the whole book.

I took this advice to heart, and for years now, have tried reading each book in the Bible as a complete whole. You will find my attempt to do so in these lessons from Genesis. I do not claim this work to be the paradigm by which all efforts should be judged. That is why I describe these lessons as an attempt. Hopefully, they will start the conversation about the book and its contents.

The series was presented to the Church of Christ in Chino, CA in November and December 2013.
